In response to the needs of social teachers, this department's curriculum has planned a series of specialized subjects related to English teaching in addition to general courses. The specialized courses include 16 credits of core courses (Introduction to English Linguistics, Introduction to Western Children's Literature, and English Teaching Assessment) , language acquisition, elementary school English textbooks and teaching methods, and other five subjects). Specialized elective courses are divided into four major areas according to their characteristics: basic English ability area, linguistics area, English teaching area and literature area (focusing on children's literature), and the teaching goal is to cultivate students' professional knowledge in the four areas. The curriculum planning also focuses on the development of professional abilities in children's English teaching (listening, speaking, reading, and writing teaching skills, curriculum design, class management, teaching materials and teaching aids development, teaching evaluation, etc.) as well as the practice of teaching practice. In addition, in addition to the specialized courses offered by this department, students can also take elective courses of interest in other departments of the school or external schools according to their personal interests to cultivate the skills needed for future career planning and development. In the future, you can choose to engage in primary school English teaching, or work that is consistent with your interests.
